99.995% Cadmium Ingot
Description:
Cadmium is a silver-white glossy metal, melting point 320.9ºC, boiling point 765ºC, density 8650 kg/m3; . Ductility and ductility. Cadmium oxidizes slowly in moist air and loses its metallic luster. When heated, it forms a brown oxide layer on the surface. When heated above the boiling point, cadmium oxide smog is produced. Cadmium reacts violently with halogens at high temperatures to form cadmium halides. It can also be directly combined with sulfur to form cadmium sulfide. Cadmium is soluble in acids, but insoluble in bases. Cadmium has oxidation states of +1 and +2. Both cadmium oxide and cadmium hydroxide have very low solubility, they are soluble in acids but insoluble in bases. Cadmium can form a variety of ligand ions, such as Cd(NH3), Cd(CN), CdCl. Cadmium is highly toxic. The air and food polluted by cadmium do serious harm to human body, and its metabolism is slow in human body.
Application
1. cadmium is mainly used in electroplating of steel, iron, Cu, brass and other metal, it has high corrosion resistent against
alkali. It can be used to making Ni-Cd battery and batteries which has small volume and large electric capacity.
2. Its compounds is mainly used in producing pigments, phosphor powder, paint, dyestuff, and some kind of yellow pigment in printing ink.
3. It is also used in making tyre, some luminous electric components and the nuclear reactor components.
4. CdS, CdSe, CdTe is widely used in making light battery, plastic cement and pigment, also used in metal plating.
